Q:     How do I get to Mackinac Island?
A:     Any one of the three ferry lines in Mackinaw City provide transportation to the Island from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm from May through the end of October. Check with each ferry line for departure and return schedules.

Q:     Can we bring dogs on the boat/Island?
A:      Yes, you may bring your dog(s) on the boat as long as it is on a leash and under control at no extra charge. Most businesses on the Island, however, do not allow dogs into their establishments unless they are seeing eye dogs. Also, by city ordinance, you must have your dog on a leash and under control at all times as well as clean up after them yourself.

Q:      How long of a ride is the trip?
A:     15 minutes on the catamaran and 35-45 minutes on the traditional ferry.

Q:     How much does the ferry cost?
A:     The adult ticket is $20.00 round trip, children are $10.00 (ages 5-12) under 5 free. Bikes are $6.50. All three ferry lines are the same price.

Q:     Where does the Mackinac Bridge go?
A:     The bridge extends from the lower peninsula of Michigan to the upper peninsula (UP) of Michigan. The bridge to Canada is in Sault St. Marie Michigan about 50 miles to the north.

Q:     What is the difference between Mackinaw and Mackinac?

A:      They are both pronounced exactly the same. (Mack in awe) The spelling with a w is used only in Mackinaw City. (from the English occupation). The spelling with a c is used on the island and for the bridge (French occupation).

Q:     What are your check in and check out times?
A:     Check in time is anytime after 3:00 pm. If your room is ready you are welcome to check in early. Check out time is 11:00 am. Please call if you plan to be arriving after 11:00 pm.
